Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute will host the 2024 International Symposium on Assistive Technology for Music and Art (ISATMA) at EMPAC with a focus on the voice. Voice is critical to personal identity and expression, and adaptive technologies and interventions can enrich the voice’s palate of expression and connection. The symposium focuses on technologies and training methods to improve our singing and speaking voice.

ISATMA welcomes participation from artists and scholars across all abilities and provides an inclusive environment for those seeking to learn more about the voice and voice-related technology in general.

Events include live and hybrid performances and workshops with adaptive technologies, presentations, and panels with scholars, technologists, and artists from the fields of voice science and pedagogy, voice therapy, music composition, performance, and advocacy.

This event is supported by the Craig H. Neilsen Foundation.
